Every day we hear about serious crime in or near our neighborhoods or where we work. We must give our full support to our law enforcement and first responders at every level. There must be interagency cooperation. Most importantly, when criminals are arrested and convicted, they must be punished.
We must look at each tax dollar as if it was earned by the hardest working people in our state - the roofers, the construction workers, people who do the hard jobs and ask “Is this how they would want their tax dollars spent?”
Healthcare decisions must be made not by insurance companies and hospitals, but by the patient. We need complete price transparency. And we must end a certificate of need program that has given us a market that is divided up by big hospital systems that make it hard for small doctor practices to compete and left large parts of the state without access to emergency services.
In our district we have access to some of the finest K-12 and higher education institutions anywhere. We must provide greater access to school choice for our K-12 students. We must also insist on accountability from our higher education system where the cost of tuition has increased dramatically.
